Art Blocks offers 3 series: Curated vs. Playground vs. Factory How do these series compare in terms of volume (transactions, price, and tokens)?
Art blocks is a platform focused on the curation of programmable generative art works which are stored on the Ethereum blockchain as an NFT and sold. The works are usually programmed using p5.js, a JavaScript library which allows creative coding, the script is stored on chain. When a new artwork is minted a unique ‘seed’ is pseudo-randomly generated with the script thus generating a unique artwork on mint. The seed sets the initial variables associated with the script.[1]
Art Blocks Curated is the most strictly curated offering in the Art Blocks product suite. Submissions are made by individual artists or collaborations and approved by the curation board before they go live. These highly innovative releases by renowned artists reflect astounding beauty and innovation both artistically and technically.
Art Blocks Playground is the place where artists who have previously been approved for curated drops are encouraged to play and innovative. Like all Art Blocks releases, these projects must meet a quality standard, but with the Playground, experimentation is encouraged.
Art Blocks Factory allows artists who do not wish to wait for approval by the Curation Board a place to launch their generative art. While requirements are somewhat relaxed compared to Curated drops, the releases in Factory will reflect the innovation, creativity, and artistic beauty associated with the Art Blocks community.
Playground Collection:Out of the 36 artists in the Curated collection, only the following 15 artists were gives the access to the Playground collection.

To analyze the collections, we look at the artists and all the tokens they have in ethereum.nft_metadata table, the corresponding transactions are then found in ethereum.nft_events which contain more information like the price and transaction id, which is then used to calculate the monthly volume and number of transactions for each collection and each artist.
